Let's Get Real!

That which changes is unreal and temporal; and that which doesn't change is real and eternal.

In that case, how come things that are supposed to be unreal seem so real that you can feel, see, smell, taste and even touch them? I believe though they seem real enough, they are still figments of the imagination.

Take sickness as an example, which seem so real that hospitals are filled with patients; and there are health practitioners galore trying to make people well. One sure sign that sickness is not real is the sick get better. Even those who appear to "die" soon realise that they are still "alive" and no longer ill. If the disease was real then people would be sick forever and ever and ever.

If anger was real, then when I have felt angry, I would have been angry forever and ever and ever, but that hasn't been the case.

If depression was real, then when I have felt depressed, I would have been depressed forever and ever and ever, but that hasn't been the case.

If loneliness was real, then when I have felt lonely, I would have felt that way forever and ever and ever, but that hasn't been the case.

Etc, etc.

Hang on, since most people don't feel happiness all the time, does this mean happiness is unreal? Human happiness is unreal because of the belief a lot of us have been programmed with that happiness has to be earned or you have to do something to be happy. Real happiness is causeless, meaning that it always exist and will always exist.

I believe the easiest way to nip that which is unreal in the bud is to see it as just a passing phase, just like the clouds. The sky is always underneath looking as radiant as ever.

And as you see through the unreal, they cease to have any power in your experience.

Only that which doesn't change is real; the rest is just a figment of the imagination.
